Yuvajana Sakhyam

Youth League

The Yuvajana Skhyam (Youth League) is one of the Official Organization of the Mar Thoma Church Staten Island. This Organization is affiliated to the Mar Thoma Yuvajana Skhyam (MTYS) whose headquarters is in Thiruvalla (India). Members of the Parish between the ages of 12 - 45 are eligible for membership in the Sakhyam.

They meet once a month normally at the residence of the members for prayer and meditation. In addition, they undertake charitable activities in India by supporting the Mission fields.

Objective

• To help youth to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
• To help youth to grow into the maturity and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
• To equip youth for Christian fellowship and worship life.
• To facilitate youth to develop loyalty to the Church and participate in the growth of various organizations and institutions of the Church.
• To equip youth to participate in the mission of the Church.
• To organize seminars, classes, workshops, conferences, mission tours etc. to create interest in youth members in bible studies faith and practices of the church, history of the church and ecumenical fellowship.
